About the Photographer

This is the history of Snitkerimages Photography.

The first time I held a camera, I had no clue how it worked or what to do with it. I was a junior in high school. As my cover page states, I took a position as one of our high school yearbook photographers. It turned out to be far more interesting than I had imagined.

From day one, I was hooked. My first camera was a simple Yashica TL Electro with a 50mm and 135mm lens set. Over the next 50 years I watched the equipment become more sophisticated, more complicated to operate, and much more expensive. I moved up from Yashica and Contax film cameras, and then on to Canon and Sony digital equipment. I studied both technique and lighting. I studied animal behavior. All in an effort to hone my craft and produce images that people would enjoy.

I moved from southern California, to Colorado, to Michigan, and now, once again, find myself back in the wildlife haven they call Colorado. I have traveled all over the western United States, up into Canada, and over to Australia and New Zealand. More international travel is in the future assuming my health permits.

The current equipment I use is as follows:
Cameras:
Sony A7MKV
Sony A7RMKIII
Sony A7RMKV
Lenses:
Sony 20-70mm
Sony 70-200mm
Sony 200-600mm
Tamron 90mm Macro
Adapters:
Sony 1.4X Teleconverter
Tripod:
Robus
Monopod:
Manfrotto
